Mare Blu Tuna Farm was established after an enduring working relationship between Group Fuentes and Mare Blu. In 2006, the companies decided to join forces in this business venture and Mare Blu Tuna Farm was founded.

Activity:
Mare Blu Tuna Farm is dedicated to the fattening of Blue-fin Tuna for Export. The Farm holds a capacity of 1,500 MT (One Thousand Five Hundred Metric Tonnes), and is situated in the Aqua Cultural Zone, which holds a capacity of 9,000 MT (Nine Thousand Metric Tonnes).

The Production, Administration and Management operations of the company are carried out by Maltese, Spanish and Japanese personnel. Without any doubt, this amalgamation of local and foreign knowledge of the trade, guarantees an improvement in the fattening quality of the Tuna.

The Republic of Malta is located in one of the most geographically advantageous locations in the Mediterranean for our activity. This allows the Transfer of Fish in the farming facilities at the beginning of June.

The optimal climate of the Zone during the Tuna fattening period, allows Mare Blu Tuna Farm’s Tuna to be one the first to reach the demanding quality levels required by the Japanese Market for its consumption.
